बेचैनी की वर्षा कर रहा है वासना का काला बादल गहरा

जन्म जन्मों से मंदिर मस्जिद में जमाए बैठा है तू डेरा
न मिलने पर भगवान, कैसा मुर्झा गया है तेरा चेहरा
कुछ देर तू डेरा हटा कर तो देख,
इक चैन भरी साँस तू लेकर तो देख;

न सोचना कि अभी तो पूरी ज़िन्दगी पड़ी है
कि बुढ़ापे से पहले जवानी पड़ी है
चार पल की ये ज़िन्दगी चुटकी में बीत जायेगी
ये आत्मा परमात्मा की बड़ी बातें सब यहीं छूट जाएँगी
कुछ पल तू जीवन के ख़ुद के साथ बिता कर तो देख
मेरे दोस्त, इक चैन भरी साँस तू लेकर तो देख ।

Translation:
Desires are keeping your mind’s door;
The dark black cloud of lust is raining anxiety on you
Just try letting go of your lust & desires and take a deep breath.

For many births you have been visiting temples and churches;
On not finding God there you have lost your vitality and gleam
Just try letting go of this desire to attain to God and take a deep breath.

Don’t think that your whole life is still with you;
That youth and old age are with you,
Life gets over within minutes
God and godliness will all be left back here
Just try spending some time with yourself and take a deep breath.
